Subject: Bugler Gold Pt.1 …
… is a real smooth track, very successful organ design, the rhythm variations are stupendous in minute 1 but sometimes it seems to me a little dangerous what you are trying there. the house reference layer is a standard acquisition like quotations of early house standards (considering the organ and the whispers in your track), this is how Theo Parrish also is working – bringing the straightest comprehensions of musical items of scenes to which he refers. the KORG MS–Series reference for house is also there with those minimal basic notes you are throwing into spaces of rhythms from the very start. length is perfect, all is made with very few emphasis (nice to listeners), and then, most interesting, there is a minimal tech - kick as if it directly came from the Cologne minimal tech school Mike Ink or so in the 90s. that can be heard sometimes inbetween and also is typical for your work, a strong combination I guess. that echo coming in at the end makes up the connection to your djing (like scratching) and is a little like a short freestyle development of the rhythm base and central themes/sounds too.
please correct me where I’m wrong, Matteo, or did I forget something? many greetings :|
